Analyst and Engagement Officer
The Swedish Institute of International Affairs (UI), through its Stockholm Centre for Eastern European Studies (SCEEUS), is seeking a proactive and analytically skilled Analyst and Engagement Officer to join a two-year project.
As Analyst and Engagement Officer, you will play a central role in identifying strategic partners, designing and implementing structured engagement tracks, and contributing to high-impact results within the project. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of policy, civil society, and international cooperation in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment.
About the Project
This two-year initiative aims to deepen informed expertise on Eastern Europe and develop structured engagement with selected actors from the region. The project is hosted by SCEEUS, a national knowledge centre at UI.

Key Responsibilities
As part of our team, the successful candidate will:
- Lead strategic engagement by identifying suitable partners, designing structured workshops and dialogues, and ensuring alignment with EU values and frameworks.
- Deliver insight and analysis and reporting on engagement outcomes.
- Drive implementation and risk management by overseeing timelines, managing risks, and ensuring activities are impactful and cost-effective.
- Support coordination and communication by maintaining strong stakeholder relations and contributing to internal and external reporting.
- Foster learning and collaboration by documenting lessons learned, supporting continuous improvement, and contributing to the institute’s community and operations.
Experience & Qualifications

- Facilitating engagement and dialogue, including designing and leading multi-stakeholder workshops or similar formats.
- Coordinating international or EU-funded projects, with a focus on delivering measurable, meaningful outcomes.
- Understanding of relevant subject areas, EU values, and human rights frameworks.
- Working in digital environments, including proficiency in Microsoft 365 and collaborative tools.

Language Requirements
- Full professional proficiency in both English and Russian, including excellent verbal and written communication skills, is required.
- Swedish language proficiency is not required for this position.
Terms of Employment
The position is a full-time (100%) fixed-term employment, initially for one year, with the possibility of extension. Start date by agreement, preferably in early autumn or as soon as possible.
