Project Manager
The Swedish Institute of International Affairs (UI), through its Stockholm Centre for Eastern European Studies (SCEEUS), is seeking a skilled and motivated Project Manager to support the implementation of a major two-year project on Eastern Europe.
The Project Manager plays a pivotal role in the planning and coordination of project activities. Working closely with the Project Lead and wider team, the Project Manager ensures the smooth, measurable, and effective delivery of the project throughout its lifecycle.

This two-year initiative aims to deepen informed expertise on Eastern Europe and develop structured engagement with selected actors from the region. The project is hosted by SCEEUS, a national knowledge centre at UI.

Key Responsibilities
This role includes:
- Lead project planning and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Oversee daily operations and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
- Monitor progress, manage risks, and adapt plans as needed.
- Coordinate communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate collaboration across teams and lead regular meetings.
- Manage project budgets and ensure compliance with EU and institutional standards.
- Track and report measurable outcomes to the steering committee.
- Document key decisions, lessons learned and support continuous improvement.
- Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and professional team culture.
Experience & Qualifications
We welcome applicants who bring experience such as:
- 3–5 years of experience in project management or coordination roles.
- A proven track record of managing complex international projects.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with EU-funded projects and regulatory frameworks is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365; experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop) is a plus.
- Experience working with Russian or Eastern European civil society actors is considered an asset.

Language Requirements
- Full professional fluency in English (spoken and written) is required.
- Knowledge of Russian and other languages from the region, as well as Swedish is considered an advantage.
Terms of Employment
The position is a full-time (100%) fixed-term employment, initially for one year, with the possibility of extension. Start date by agreement, preferably in early autumn or as soon as possible.
