Administrator / Project Controller
The Swedish Institute of International Affairs (UI), through its Stockholm Centre for Eastern European Studies (SCEEUS), is seeking a candidate with strong organisational and analytical skills for the role of Administrator / Project Controller to support the implementation of a major externally funded two-year project.
This position plays a key role in ensuring that project activities are financially sound, strategically aligned, and delivered in accordance with EU regulations and institutional standards. It offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact international cooperation in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment.

This two-year initiative aims to deepen informed expertise on Eastern Europe and develop structured engagement with selected actors from the region. The project is hosted by SCEEUS, a national knowledge centre at UI.

Key Responsibilities
This role includes:
- Leading financial planning and monitoring, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis in collaboration with project managers.
- Ensuring financial compliance and reporting, producing accurate and timely reports for internal stakeholders and external funders.
- Managing financial risks, including currency and procurement-related risks, and maintaining a financial risk register.
- Providing financial guidance to the project team and ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Operating within financial systems and tools, including Microsoft Excel and platforms such as Visma or Rillion.
- Promoting adherence to institutional policies, procurement guidelines, and EU financial regulations.
- Contributing to a collaborative and inclusive working culture within the institute.
Experience and Qualifications
We welcome applicants who bring experience such as:
- A degree in economics, business administration, finance, or a related field—or equivalent qualifications acquired through professional experience.
- At least five years of relevant experience, preferably in a financial or project controller role within an EU-funded context.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and EU financial regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial systems such as Visma and/or Rillion.
- Previous experience in the financial management of international development, research, or civil society projects is considered an asset.

Terms of Employment
The position is a full-time (100%) fixed-term employment, initially for one year, with the possibility of extension. Start date by agreement, preferably in early autumn or as soon as possible.
